CAMHANACH

Posted by in Poems on Aug 11, 2013

Chaidh a’ ghealach fhuar fodha mu dheireadh,

luideagan mo mhulaid leatha.

Tha’n t-am trom seachad dhomh a-nis.

Bidh mi air amhach ghlas an rathaid.

Theid mi dhachaidh ann an sòlas na maidne

Leanaidh mi a’ chorra-ghritheach ìseal air a’ mhointich.

DAWN

The cold white moon went down at last

and the rags of my sorrow with it.

The weighty time is past now

and I am on the grey neck of the road.

I shall make my way home in the morning light

following the heron low over the moorland.
